The songwriter’s new album finds Grace Petrie tackling some huge societal issues. Refusing to be carried away by negativity, she looks to unity, and commonality of purpose as a way out of this current political malaise.

Produced comes from veteran songwriter Frank Turner, who she refers to as a “veteran master of empathic music”.

Out on March 8th, it will be accompanied by a breathless UK tour, including a headline spot at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on March 14th.

New single ‘Start Again’ opens her account on a note of positivity. “In early 2020, as life ground to a halt so soon after the defeat of the last general election, I found the rolling news cycle to be a relentless tide of negativity,” Grace explains.

“’Start Again’ is meant as an antidote to that feeling. Through references to the political upheavals of the last few years, and lessons learned from lockdown about what really matters in life, it aims to reassure the listener that however endless it feels, however hopeless the horizon might look, with solidarity on our side we can always come back, regroup, restart.”
